My friends stayed Super 8 Motel during their last trip to Edmonton, Canada because they wanted to save on motel expenses. They’d been getting unusually good reviews for a motel, so they decided to check it out until they learned about the free motel specials.

Looking at it from the outside, the motel looked a bit scary. There were broken beer bottles on the parking lot and there was a “be careful of your belongings because of the constant break-ins” sign when they entered the lobby. They actually saw that sign in the elevator and in numerous other places in the motel too.

However, the signs were probably just an assurance that the motel owner cares for their safety as their experience staying the motel was the complete opposite of the first impression they had of it. The hotel staff was very cheerful and courteous when they approached the front desk, and it only took a few minutes for them to be escorted to their room.

The room was very big, quiet, and comfortable. My friends had a wonderful night’s sleep that evening. In the morning, they ate the complimentary continental breakfast in the motel dining room. The food was good, but nothing great. They really enjoyed everything and it all started in having their budget hotel coupons.

Cheap motels are rare in New York so during our latest New York escapade, we decided to try Super 8 motels in Stamfort CT using a discounted motel reservations. This side of Connecticut is very near New York and if you have car, you can save a lot especially if you take advantage of the company's discounts. With Super 8 Motel coupons, we were able to get a decent room which was 40 minutes away from New York by car. We got the room for only $70 which was $30 less than the lowest priced budget motel in the area.

That's about the good thing that we got from this Super 8 motel. If I were you, I suggest that you search for other Super 8 locations in New York or Connecticut. The room that they gave us was non-smoking but every inch of it even in the bathroom smelled of cigarette. The bed was very uncomfortable. The linens were so hard we woke up having scratches all over our forearms and faces.

We were very tired after our flight and we were expecting to get a nice rest before we tour New York but with the beds that they had, we woke up feeling more sore than the night before.
